The RBA holds at 4.35%.

At its June meeting, the Reserve Bank of Australia kept the cash rate at 4.35%. It follows three consecutive rises this year — in February, March and May — so for many households this is the first month without a repayment increase.

The bank described the economy as slowing under tighter conditions but stopped short of signalling cuts, leaving the door open to raising again if inflation demands it. The next decision is due on 11 August 2026.

For buyers, the lesson is the same as ever: borrow to a repayment you would be comfortable with even if rates moved again, and let pre-approval — not optimism — set your ceiling.
